Privacy policy

Easy Resume is a resume builder for iPhone, iPad and Mac, made by Brogan LLC (“Brogan”, “we” or “us”). This policy explains what Easy Resume does with your information. The short version: your resumes stay in your own iCloud Drive and are never sent to us. The app sends usage statistics and crash reports so we can fix and improve it. There's no Easy Resume account and no advertising, and we don't sell your information.

Where your resumes live

Easy Resume saves each resume as a file in Easy Resume's private storage in your iCloud Drive, so it's on your iPhone, iPad and Mac. Apple stores and syncs iCloud Drive under Apple's privacy policy.

Easy Resume needs iCloud Drive. If you aren't signed in to iCloud, or iCloud Drive is turned off for Easy Resume, it can't save resumes.

A resume holds whatever you type into it, such as your contact details, objective, experience, education and skills, along with the template and section headings you choose. To show the preview and to export, Easy Resume makes a PDF of your resume on your device. When you export, you choose where the PDF goes and who you send it to.

Brogan never receives your resumes or anything in them.

What Easy Resume sends, and where

Easy Resume relies on a few services to run. Apple keeps your resumes in your iCloud Drive, as described above. Google and RevenueCat never receive your resumes.

• Usage statistics, through Google Analytics for Firebase. Easy Resume records events such as when the app is first opened, how long it's used and which screens are shown, so we can tell what's working. Each installation gets a random app instance identifier, and Google works out your approximate country or region from your IP address. Easy Resume doesn't collect your device's advertising identifier, and we don't use these statistics for advertising. See Firebase's privacy information and Google's privacy policy.
• Crash reports, through Firebase Crashlytics. When Easy Resume crashes or runs into an error, it sends a report of what the app was doing, with your device model, system version and a random installation identifier, so we can find and fix the problem.
• Subscription status, through RevenueCat. See Easy Resume Pro below.
• Apple, for App Store purchases and for iCloud Drive, which stores your resumes.

Like any online service, these providers also receive technical information when the app connects to them, such as your IP address.

Easy Resume Pro

Apple handles purchases of Easy Resume Pro and bills them to your Apple Account. RevenueCat receives your App Store receipt and a random app user ID, and tells Easy Resume whether you have Pro. Neither we nor RevenueCat receive your name, your Apple Account details or your payment details. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

The 2023 Mac version

The version of Easy Resume for Mac released in December 2023 also sends anonymized usage signals to TelemetryDeck, such as when the app was opened, with no personal identifiers. Later versions don't use TelemetryDeck.

If you email us

If you write to us for help, we get your email address and whatever you send, such as a screenshot. We use them only to answer you, and we don't add you to any mailing list.

Children

Easy Resume isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Sharing and selling

We don't sell your information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Easy Resume has no ads. We share information only with the service providers above, so they can do their jobs for us, or when the law requires it.

Deleting your information

Delete a resume in Easy Resume and it's removed from iCloud Drive and from your other devices. You can also remove Easy Resume's data from iCloud in your device's iCloud storage settings. There's no Easy Resume account to delete.

Easy Resume keeps the PDF it makes for a resume's preview in the app's cache on each device that shows the preview. iPhone and iPad backups leave the cache out. Deleting the resume removes that PDF too: right away on the device you delete it on, and on each of your other devices the next time Easy Resume shows your list of resumes there. Earlier versions of Easy Resume kept these PDFs after a resume was deleted; the current version removes them the first time it shows your list. On iPhone and iPad, deleting the app removes its PDFs. On a Mac, they stay in ~/Library/Containers/app.easyresume.builder until you delete that folder.

Usage statistics and crash reports aren't linked to your name. They're kept for the period set in each provider's retention settings, and crash reports for about 90 days.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to get a copy of it, and to have it corrected or deleted. Email us and we'll reply within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for asking.

Brogan's privacy policy covers all of our apps and the brogan.io website, and explains your rights in more detail, including for California and for the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. This page is the more specific policy for Easy Resume. If the two ever say different things about Easy Resume, this page applies.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If a change materially affects how Easy Resume handles your information, we'll post it here before it takes effect and, where we can, tell you in the app.
